Wow, I was really worried about finding something fresh and healthy out here in frontier country, but this place fit the bill! They also have delivery and their menu is on facebook facebook.com/pacificrimc… The spring rolls are huge and two of them is easily a meal in itself. The pho was really delicious and served with fresh basil right on the stem. Service was excellent. Can't recommend this place enough!

The service is top notch. The gal we had for our waitress was so attentive and friendly. Their summer rolls are amazing! They had something crunchy in it that added such a different and nice texture to what I'm used to. The peanut sauce was also great! To my surprise this place had decent pho. The broth was so flavorful that I did not need to add any hoisin sauce or sriracha. What really topped my experience here were the bean sprouts. I've never had such fresh and clean bean sprouts before. They take their time to cut the tails off of each sprout. This may not seem like a lot but it made quite a difference. There were bursts of water with every bite and it was so crunchy! If you live in the area do stop by for a meal, it's totally worth it.

Service was great, very attentive. The food is the closes I've found so far being in the middle that taste the closes to real Chinese food.

Fantastic pho and pad Thai. Very reasonable prices and outstanding service. Definitely a great recommend--thanks, Yelp!

Love the Pho here need to come in an try their other authentic food but I'm usually craving pho when I come in. Not impressed with their spring roll or the sandwiches that I've had on previous visits. But the pho is great oh yeah and their pho is really good.

Not much to look at from the outside... but you have to eat here if you like Pho! We were seated promptly and they had Hot Green Tea, my favorite. I also noticed after we ordered our drinks that Wifi is available... password is pacificrimcafe. Anyway, we ordered the Pho Combo, large bowl, the Crab Rangoon, and Fried Tofu. The Combo has meatballs, tripe, brisket, and rare beef... really the way to go... It could have used just a little more of the meats, especially the tripe, but there was enough. The noodles were great, and be sure to take all of the basil they give you and tear it up then mix it into the bowl, along with the sprouts and Jalapeno pepper pieces. I added some other sauces from the table into mine, which made it a little spicy. It was awesome... I could have easily eaten two bowls. Now, if you order the Crab Rangoon you will not believe the size of each one... we ordered 6 instead of the smaller order of 4. Wow! They were absolutely FULL, and STUFFED to the MAX with crab and cheese, especially crab! We would make a meal of these but they are so rich you really would be full before you could finish too many of them... again, wow! I didn't try the fried Tofu, but Janet ate all of it herself and really enjoyed it. We ate the two fortune cookies for dessert. The service is great and they came to the table just often enough to make sure we had everything we wanted. I would eat here once or twice a week if I could. We were here for lunch... give this place a try, you will love the food.

We came here on a Monday not knowing that Monday's menus are limited (probably the chef's night off). There were only a handful of Asian dishes that were available. The Thai iced tea is not their strong point. It was good but a little too sweet. I highly highly suggest their pho instead. I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted the broth- very clean tasting with no MSG. I think it was better than most of the pho places around Los Angeles. Service was really good- waitress/owner checked up on us multiple times.

Great food. For a not-so-Chinese town, this place sure knows how to prepare some good dishes. I'm from LA and eat plenty of this stuff and wouldn't hesitate coming back here again. We had the Pho Combination and Pho Beef Ball. Great... Also had the Vietnamese wings and these were absolutely fantastic. My daughter and I fought for the last one! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is sick of typical American fair.

South Dakota, you surprised me. The pho here is about the same as the ones I get in NYC! Not bad for a place in the middle of nowhere. The broth was rich and the portions were big, the combination is definitely the way to go. I noticed other reviewers highlighted the bad service but I didn't get any of that? My server wasn't a teenager either, she constantly checked up on us, refilled our waters, answered all our questions about the menu. I had absolutely no trouble with her at all. The only downside here is the vermicelli noodle salad, the noodles were served hot when they're usually suppose to be cold (salad, hello!) and the egg rolls tasted like the Chinese rather than Vietnamese, the wrapping wasn't crunchy either. 3.5 stars but I'm rounding up to 4 cause of the free wifi, it's like South Dakotans know there isn't any cellular service here. Thanks for saving my ass and letting my google maps work its magic. P.S. Wifi password is pacificrimcafe.

Amazing venue for Pho in Rapid City! We were amazed to how tentative and the quality of pho and fried rice was amazing! If I'm ever in Rapid City again, I'll definitely stop by.

Our server was very friendly and attentive. The meatball pho was delicious! Being from San Francisco we have endless choices for good Asian food so we were pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant. The General Tso chicken and fried tofu were also really good! We ended our meal with strawberry and green tea mochis which were very fresh and tasty.

We took the kids to Mount Rushmore for spring break and happened to stay in Rapid City. It was so cold that the family wanted to have some noodle soup, yes, it's so easy to drive down the block and get it in SAn Gabriel Valley. We found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. It is unexpectedly great pho noodle!!!! It's even better than the ones we usually go in downtown LA. The soup is light and flavorful. We all ordered the combination pho. The best pho I have had!!! We are leaving in couple days and we will definitely back here before going to the airport!

After only 2 weeks on the road in the US, I was already completely over the burger/chicken variations. Australians have a love affair with Vietnamese so I was happy to see this place recommended. Now to say this place is Vietnamese is a stretch. They have Pho (soup) and Bahn Mi (called Vietnamese sandwich) and that's it for Vietnamese dishes. The rest are Chinese. Still a Pho was better than nothing! We ordered a large takeaway Pho and a veggie/tofu stir fry (which comes with steamed rice). The stir fry also comes with a small hot & sour soup. All up, these dishes came to $17 which is of course, an absolute steal. Pho was delicious with typical light aniseed broth. They had bagged up the crunchy bean shoots & basil for us to add at home. The rare beef, noodles, spring onions and coriander were in another container to also be added at home. Perfect! Just the thing for this homesick Aussie. Stir fry was standard and enjoyable. The soup and meal were far too much for the two of us so the rest was chilled in the fridge for lunch the next day. Great value.

I've dined here twice and was very favorably impressed both times. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The wait staff was courteous and very accommodating. I also recommended Pacific Rim Cafe to a friend and he has dined twice since and he has recommended it to his friends. I'll be returning for lunch again soon.

AUTHENTIC phó IN SOUTH DAKOTA?!?! It may be hard to believe but... YOU BECHA! We were displaced Californians trying to defrost after a few days in chilly Middle America. BRRR! Usually if we're craving Asian soup, there's a Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, or Korean spot near by where we call home, but do we have the same kind of options here in Rapid City? Yelp sure does come in handy when you have specific cravings in foreign places. After spinning the yelp wheel, Wifey thought this place would fit our fams eclectic needs, so off we went. Big sign out front helps to spot it sooner. Once inside, the fish tank inside is HUGE and mesmerized my young squires. Staff is interactive and helpful, which makes any visit that much more pleasant. Pacific Rim actually has a variety of Asian dishes, and Vietnamese phó options take up some of the menu. So, let's sample a few things! *COCONUT DRINK: Doesn't say it in the menu, but it's STRAIGHT FROM THE COCONUT!!! Yup, full on Coconut With a Straw! Quite refreshing. Then when you're done with the "water," they'll split it open so you can scoop out the inside yumminess! Nom nom NOM :) *SPRING ROLLS: Vietnamese version, comes as a pair. Quality is about the same as anything I've had in Cali. Peanut sauce was tasty, too. *FRIED TOFU: Prepared just the way WE like it! Nicely crisp shell, yet still soft inside. Not greasy at all. I had to ask for two more orders of this because the young squires were just inhaling this stuff and Wifey & I could only watch the devastation! We must've been having tofu withdrawals or somethin', geez! *PHÓ GÀ (P5-CHICKEN): My Munchkin's favorite soup! The broth here is light with a nice flavor to it. Ample serving of tender white chicken. Sometimes Munch will let me squirt some Hoisin sauce in, but not this time. Like Baby Bear's porridge, it was JUUUST right :) *PHÓ COMBINATION (P1): AHHH! Such a comfort to breath in the hot & steamy broth on a chilly day. They have all the normal fixin's you typically get with phó, except a lil chintzy on the basil leaves. Broth had a good flavor to it, but I always hype it up with Hoisin, Sriracha & chili paste. This option comes with meatballs, beef brisket, tendon, rare beef, & tripe (but no tripe or tendon for me). The meats I had were tender and in ample quantity. Yup! Yummy Chilly Willy protection :) *GENERAL TSO CHICKEN: Best General Tso's we've EVER had! And, it's IN SOUTH DAKOTA, of all places!!! Big tender chicken pieces here covered in a crunchy shell that had a caramelized sweet & tangy covering. SOOO GOOD! *BROCCOLI STIR FRY with SHRIMP: The lil man enjoyed this, but I thought it had too much sauce for a stir fry. Looked more like a stew. Ample servings of broccoli and shrimp came with the order. Eh. *DEEP FRIED ICE CREAM: I was pleasantly surprised to find this on the menu and happily ordered it. Batter Shell is thick, crispy on the outside but a bit doughy inside. Vanilla ice cream is pretty firm despite being deep fried. Not the best I've had, but a decent attempt. This was SUCH a welcome change in a trip filled with new eateries and/or often settling for whatever was close. Nice to know there's access to tasty Asian comfort foods we SoCalis are use to, in this part of the United States that's far from any boomin' metropolis. WORTH sampling :)

Decent Pho, accompanied by quite an authentic soup base. The accoutrements looked fine - bean sprouts, Thai basil, lemon. Yes lemon. That was the only disappointment. Just didn't taste right without lime. Other than that, place was clean and service was friendly and attentive. Will be going back there again on our week long stay in the area.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant tonight. I came here tonight with my family on vacation and the fried tofu is absolutely delicious. The thai ice tea was really good and very sweet. We had mochi ice cream for dessert and it was fantastic. We had excellent service. The waitress was very attentive but not so much that it was annoying. I would definitely recommend this place. Thank you for a wonderful end to our stay in South Dakota.

Great pho! I regularly eat pho in NYC and the LA area, so I know pho. I'm so thrilled to have found this place on Yelp. It was a little disconcerting at first to see Cubano and Reuben sandwiches on the menu :), and let's face it, it was way too clean to be an "authentic" Vietnamese restaurant. But this broth was the real deal, and obviously the broth is what makes the pho. Cafe Sua Da (Vietnamese ice coffee on this menu. like Pho Tai is called Rare Beef) was served already mixed up so it was sweeter than I care for, but it was clearly freshly prepared and not from a bottle in the fridge. A great place to grab lunch on our cross-country trip, before heading to Mount Rushmore.

Of the two Vietnamese restaurants in Rapid City, Pacific Rim Cafe is the newcomer. The decor here was lovely, with shades of red, blue, and brown, accented by brick and Vietnamese paintings, vessels, and figurines. It was simple, but elegant. Interestingly, this is really an American style cafe with Vietnamese specialties. Vietnamese appetizers and pho are available for order, alongside sandwiches - but I don't mean banh mi. I'm talking cuban, reuben, and roast beef. There's even a kids' menu with grilled cheese and PB&J. The pho here is cheaper than at its competitor Saigon, with a small option for $7.95 and large for $9.95. I ordered the "Pho with rare beef," which came quickly, and with the proper garnishes. My first impression was uh oh, this broth is very light in color, but it turned out to be more flavorful than I thought! It did have a light taste, but it wasn't bad at all. I wished the bowl was bigger though, because the broth came right to the top, leaving no room to add bean sprouts and mix it all up! Once I drank a little of the broth though, I was able to eat properly. The noodles were good, but the meat was a little strange. It had a stronger flavor and was a little tough, more like brisket than rare steak. The cut was slightly different than what I was used to, with the slight slickness of fat in some areas, when usually the rare steak for pho won't have any fat at all. Overall, it was a satisfying bowl of pho, much better than what I had at Saigon the night before. The service at Saigon was better though; at PRC the one server was a little slow to get to me even though there were only two other parties. She seemed busy, but checked on the party of four near me a few times before checking on me. Maybe because I'm just one unimportant person? Who knows. Overall, I enjoyed my visit. It has a nice atmosphere, and I think it'll do very well for years to come. Plus there was a special that day - 10% off! When I paid, I also got a fortune cookie, which read "All of your hard work will soon be paid off." Excellent. I hope that comes true soon! Rating Breakdown Taste (9/14): Broth flavor- 3/5 Noodle & meat quality- 4/5 Garnish selection- 1/2 Portion size- 1/2 Restaurant (15/16): Service- 4/5 Cleanliness- 5/5 Atmosphere- 4/4 Speed of arrival- 2/2 Total: 24/30 Follow the phoventure at phoacrossamerica.com

First of all food wasn't bad especially for being in SD not having that many Asians. I had the pho and the broth was pretty good and not loaded with MSG like some places do. But the service was terrible. I would've gave it a 4 star if it weren't for the service. Slow and inattentive. After being seated I waited a long time for the waiter to come around for order. And he got the order wrong. And I had to prompt him to get chopsticks and spoon. Who eats pho without just a fork?!? And at the end he rang me up with someone else's check. Go ahead hire high school kids but please train them properly. Just go in with expectation service is inadequate but food is pretty good and u won't be disappointed :)

This was a wonderful place that was surprising to find in Rapid City. It has some of the best pho and spring rolls I've had anywhere! The general tso's was crispy and had a much better sauce than what you'd find in any regular Asian-style restaurant. I was very, VERY impressed and I would recommend this to anyone who wants a nice taste of Vietnamese in South Dakota.

  • Dina V.

We ordered Vietnamese fried rolls, pho and Mongolian beef. All good. Service was fine- probably would be better if they went dealing with Fourth of July crowds. Fresh and tasty! Especially the pho noodles. Very fresh- maybe the best I've had.

We've been coming here once a week since it opened. The pho' is the best comfort food you can get on a cool fall day. The pad Thai is huge and you'll need a doggy bag...very good. The new summer cold noodle salad is like nothing I've had in a delicious way. We always always get the spring rolls! Owners are lovely people.

People of SD...I'm not here to preach to you that I come from a different part of the country and I know good phõ. If this is the best Phõ you have in Rapid City, it is what it is. Just promise me that you'll keep an open mind and try this delicious dish some place else. The broth was flavorless and the meat portion way to small. You should expect an authentic dish that is way better than what this place has to offer. I should have tried Sagion. It was a 50/50 and I think I chose wrong.

  • Jonathon L.

We each had a different meal and tried each other's meals, all uniformly delicious. None of us had the pho, so we can't comment on that , but the beef and chicken dishes were terrific.

A vietnamese joint that also serves thai food? I am definitely digging this place. The broth in the Pho I just want to drink by itself. The pad thai is also no slouch. The portions here are large and that fills me with joy because I am a big eater. The place is really nice and clean. Hell even the chairs are blinging! Oh and you get a fortune cookie so there is even a little chinese influence there.

I can't say enough good about this family run place. I don't know how authentic it is, but it's amazing, good food, period. I gladly leave full and happily give them money and more business. So good.

Solid, authentic phó with delicious broth! The service is friendly and attentive and the décor is modern and beautiful. I'm SO glad this place opened... Before then, I'd have to travel 3 hours to Casper, WY to get a decent bowl. Now, I'll only have to travel 1.5 hours! lol

I had the beef and broccoli without the brown sauce due to dietary restrictions. The staff went out of their way to prepare a special sauce for my meal! The care shown was wonderful ! My husband's meal was excellent as well and we both had the spring rolls which were so yummy and fresh tasting! Would definitely recommend this restaurant !

Nice local joint! Very friendly greeting as we came in and attentive service throughout our visit. We both had pho, my wife the rare beef and I the brisket. It was every bit as good as other reviewers had indicated. The small size was plenty for a dinner meal. We saw someone with the large and it looked more like a vat than a serving bowl. Great good and good prices. Don't miss it!

One of the best restaurants in Rapid City and one of the very few whose food can stand up to the more discerning culinary standards of larger cities. The pho and sandwiches (Vietnamese and otherwise) are hands down the best in the city.

Excellent dining experience! I was recently in Rapid City for work and thought I'd give this place a shot. I'm so happy I did. Fast and incredibly friendly service as well as very flavorful pho (amazing broth). I will back in town in a few weeks, and I will definitely stop here again. Check this place out!

Delicious Asian American food, friendly service, clean and pleasant atmosphere! I had the chicken and broccoli stir fry - yummy and the broccoli was still crisp. Extra fresh spring roles and the serving sizes are plentiful! A must try!!!

Rapid City has been in need of a decent pho spot for a hot minute, and it has finally arrived. Yes, there is one other place (Saigon) around that purports to sell authentic pho, but Pacific Rim beats it like a redheaded stepchild. I dined on the combination bowl and summer rolls, both of which were delicious and prepared in a timely fashion. Unless you're a big eater, or desire to have a pho swimming pool, order the small bowl. Looking forward to stopping in here again.

I am from out of town and was looking for a quick comfort food lunch. While Pho is foreign to many it is a great noodle soup option on a cold winters day. I ordered Brisket Pho and Crispy Noodles both of which were done to perfection. The service was outstanding, very friendly, and attentive. The next time I pass through I will visit this little gem. Definately worth a stop!

This shop is a rare breed for this area. They serve fast, quality, variety Vietnamese, Chinese, and American food. I love Saigon when relatives come to town, but for lunch with coworkers or on a fast-pace schedule, this is my favorite. The food feels and tastes real. It's not super greasy or shiny or artificial like some other places I've eaten. It's simply delicious. There's also variety for people who just want a good sandwich with potato salad. The pho, lo mein, and deli grilled sandwiches are all delicious. The peanut sauce with the spring rolls is excellent. I don't have kids but their kids menu is hilarious and unique. Overall, great food! I've eaten here weekly since they opened (I've been spoiled by my trips to the east and west coasts where pho is common, and I have been looking for a good option for lunch in this area). If you're missing mom's chicken soup, the meatball pho is a pretty good substitute. Start with the small bowl unless you can eat like a linebacker. Most importantly, I can easily eat there over lunch during my busy schedule. My favorite part is that this shop can produce a bowl of pho quickly over a typical office lunch hour.

I had the Pho, my first ever, and it was delicious. I ordered the small, thank goodness, because it was a lot. I ordered the meatballs, which were not like anything I had ever had. I will try the other types the next time I go, which I will. Staff was everywhere, busy, and unlike most places here, concerned about the customer. My spouse had the Cuban which was also very tasty and well-priced. Overall experience was very good. You won't be disappointed.

Just ate here yesterday and loved it. I am a sucker for a good bowl of Pho and this place was great. The Crab Rangoon and Egg Rolls were also a pleasant surprise, especially since good Asian food can be hard to find here in Rapid. Not a fine dining place but nicer than I expected, and the service was pleasant and quick. My husband and I look forward to coming back and trying more of the menu.

Ate here twice in a three day vacation. Very good pho. Excellent appetizers and fantastic service. We will definitely eat here again, when we're in the area.

We ordered Vietnamese fried rolls, pho and Mongolian beef. All good. Service was fine- probably would be better if they went dealing with Fourth of July crowds. Fresh and tasty! Especially the pho noodles. Very fresh- maybe the best I've had.

So good.

A surprise find in Rapid City! Pho is great, the portion is large, and the price is reasonable. The broth in the pho is excellent! I'll definitely return on my next work trip to RC.

The pho here is good. Glad there is a vietnamese restaurant in the area. The sandwiches are just ok. My recommendation is to stick with the vietnamese items and you will be good.
